Hello everyone
wow what a show. The 2004 Woody's Top Gun Shootout was the most entertaining
show ever Done. Thanks to all who performed .You all were very professional
. No Spectator went to sleep. I wanted to finish at 4pm and we did and
the racer Champion meal was booked for 6pm . We arrived at Oakwood in
at 6pm. WOW couldn't of asked for anything more. 3 new World records
Open Mod 1000 John Weelock what a show 4.07 at 126mph with a 1.10 60ft
time. Pro Stock 1000cc Wayne Legge Won Everything there was to win after
he got out this year. New Record 4.38 at 114 mph with a 1.12 60ft time.
Improved Stock 1000 Ed Ensor was super fast setting the record into
a head wind 4.69 at 110 mph. Congratulations To Craig Marchbank on his
win in Improved 800 & 1000cc. Billy Howard Coming out of the number
7 position to win Open Stock. Congratulations to Kenny Burlew on his
win in Pro Stock 800cc Chuck you & crew are great for the sport.Congratulations
to Bernard Rodrique for his Open Mod 1000 win. Just Shows you anything
can happen when its 2 at a time 400 pro tree heads up racing. Big fields
in all classes. As for the future of the RX1 There are lots of tracks
capable of running a Top Gas class this is what the sport needs to run
this class at tracks that can handle this speed NOS, Super Charged you
name it, Why do you think NHRA or IHRA is Televised because they are
on the edge every pass down the track and there track standards have
changed over the years as I know as I was a track Manager for 5 years.
John had a tough break in the final as he was half out of the grouve
on the starting . The sled was on a bit of an angle. When he left the
sled went left he had to lift and get it straightened out and got on
the throudle but couldn't catch Bernard by the 500 ft mark.Everyone
makes mistakes But I will tell you one thing the 2004 Woody's Top Gun
Shootout was the best thing to happen to the sport. Hats off to all
competitors & Champions that Show even gave me a charge. As for
the Shutdown John Didn't Even use the Whole shutdown to stop that sled
at 126mph. I will do my best to have a Open Mod 1000cc class & a
