Tri
Valley Trails Ice Drags This was one of the nicest locations I've been at.
Nestled down in a narrow valley, the viewing was excellent. The sun broke in the morning, only to cloud over before the races got started. The cloud cover kept the temperature constant and cool. This gave racers a chance to shake out some of the cobwebs. It was very good to meet Mike and the gang from Minot. My heart has always had a soft spot for the oldies, and it was sweet to see the El tigre and other vintage performance sleds, given all they got. The Yamaha had the show stopper moment with a spectacular "idlers only" wheelie.
We were expecting some more sleds to be there. Both Jamie Hogg and Blair Lesy had some bad luck in Sault St Marie and couldn't participate. They are hoping to have them all back for Minot race. Super competitive sleds added up to some impressive times. Ian Langley ran Don Klassens 1000 to a 4.911 run. Impressive run by an equally impressive pilot. Mike Weiskopf mentioned that he has had his gremlins, and this race kept them alive and well. Again he made it to the final, only to have them little buggers attack again. Hope you get them out soon Mike. Gremlins were found,
not only on Mikes sled, but also for Crud Racing and Xtreme Energy.
Xtreme Energy's Brad and Curtis started the day with no ignition. They
eventually got it figured out, but Curtis had injured his shoulder and
was there for moral support.
Team Crud Racings gremlins also kept Shane and Scotty, working vigalantly to exorcise them. I think by the end of the day, both teams had worked most of them out. Thundercity Racing have a New 600 Prostock with Gremlins galore to start the day. Lots of work and half a day later, got them on the ice and running. Still have more work to do, but it's coming. Chin up Jim. When the batteries
died on the lighting system, it was decided to just eyeball the last
3 heats. The King Final was just to close to call, so they were to face
the two sleds off again. The result of the second run was a lot clearer.
